Best Western Ponderosa is searching for a PartTime Maintenance Technician to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager the Maintenance Tech directs and implements maintenance programs aimed at maintaining a zerodefect environment for guests. Our Maintenance department inspects maintains and repairs mechanical electrical and other equipment used by the guests or affecting the quality of their experience while visiting the property.

Job Responsibilities:
- Creates a safe and attractive environment for guests and associates by ensuring the hotel is maintained in accordance with safety standards
- Completes hotel room and building repairs such as replacing filters light bulbs door locks screen doors and painting
- Performs repairs on toilets sinks laundry facilities and other hotel fixtures
- Develops plans for completing routine preventative maintenance and renovations
- Coordinates work with hotel department managers
- Maintains safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the hotel pool pool area and hot tub
- Ensures hotel adheres to all regulatory and safety standards by meeting with government and insurance inspectors and taking corrective action as needed
- Performs repairs on housekeeping equipment including carts vacuums and carpet cleaners
- Assists in laundry with changing chemicals on machines and cleaning lint screens
- Empties outdoor trash receptacles and dog waste receptacles at regular intervals
- Pressure washes balconies and sidewalks as needed
- Cleans carpet as needed
- Keeps Front Desk updated as to duties being performed and status of project
- Maintains a friendly cheerful and courteous demeanor always
- Maintains customers privacy
- Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor
- Treats all coworkers with respect
- Adheres to all hotel policies and procedures as outlined by hotel standards and Federal State and Local laws including OSHA regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned
Successful Candidates Must Have:
- Eighteen years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years hotel or apartment maintenance experience
- HVAC certification preferred
- Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing maintenance
- Experience with general maintenance tools
- Troubleshooting ability with skills in painting HVAC and carpentry
- Computer skills such as typing and navigating property management systems required
- Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events
- Ability to work weekends
