Themis Recruit is looking for a skilled and experienced Defendant Clinical Negligence Solicitor based in Birmingham to manage a caseload of complex clinical negligence matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in defending healthcare professionals and organizations against claims of clinical negligence ensuring the highest standards of legal representation and client service.
Responsibilities:
Case Management:
- Handle a caseload of defendant clinical negligence matters from inception to resolution.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to provide accurate and timely advice to clients.
- Draft pleadings witness statements and other legal documents.
Client Interaction:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and collaboration.
- Attend client meetings providing updates on case progress and addressing client concerns.
Court Proceedings:
- Represent clients in court attending hearings and managing the litigation process.
- Conduct negotiations and settlements on behalf of clients when appropriate.
Legal Compliance:
- Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting clinical negligence.
- Ensure compliance with legal and professional standards.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with colleagues within the firm to share knowledge and best practices.
- Mentor junior members of the team and contribute to their professional development.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years of postqualification experience in defendant clinical negligence.
- Strong litigation and advocacy skills with experience handling complex cases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated client management and relationshipbuilding skills.
