Themis Recruit are looking for a proactive and talented Dispute Resolution Solicitor with 13 years of postqualification experience (PQE) to join our dynamic Dispute Resolution team. The successful candidate will handle a broad range of disputes working closely with clients to resolve their legal issues efficiently and effectively including but not exclusive to: commercial property residential property contentious probate insolvency and bankruptcy contract disputes professional negligence and debt recovery. Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
- Handle a varied caseload of dispute resolution matters including commercial disputes contract disputes property disputes and debt recovery.
- Conduct legal research draft legal documents and prepare case strategies.
- Liaise with clients providing clear practical and commercially sound legal advice.
Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution:
- Represent clients in court proceedings arbitration and mediation sessions.
- Prepare pleadings witness statements and other court documents.
- Advise clients on the merits and risks of litigation versus alternative dispute resolution methods.
Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients understanding their needs and objectives.
- Ensure clients are kept informed about the progress of their cases and provide regular updates.
- Work to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients while managing their expectations effectively.
Negotiation:
- Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing parties.
- Draft and review settlement agreements.
- Strive to resolve disputes amicably and costeffectively wherever possible.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate records of all casework.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with dispute resolution matters.
Business Development:
- Support the team in business development activities including attending networking events and contributing to marketing initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to crosssell the firm s services to existing and potential clients.
- Assist in the preparation of articles and updates for the firm s website and newsletters.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to provide a seamless service to clients.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department s processes and practices.
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members and administrative staff as required.
Requirements
- Education: Qualified Solicitor with a current practicing certificate.
- Experience: 13 years PQE in dispute resolution or litigation.
