Established and growing global freight forwarder has an opening for an Ocean Import Coordinator for their Jamaica NY office. Must have experience doing A to Z ocean import coordination.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive review and process import documentation for accounts
- Track and trace shipment and provide updates to clients and sales
- Ensure documentation is accurately processed distributed and released to carrier customers and agents in a timely manner
- Obtain and create quotes for shipments and source best method of transportation
- Verify carrier/vendor invoices for accuracy address any discrepancies for revision and post for payment within the Company operating system
- Work with Customs Broker or CFS to coordinate and monitor the release of goods from the carrier Customs or other governmental agency examinations that may be required
- Communicate with overseas agents to ensure proper prealerts and documentation Continue to explore different options to reduce cost and increase revenues Uphold a strong and professional relationship with transportation agencies and sales Demonstrate an emphasis on customer satisfaction per company policy Maintain shipment files and ensure billing is completed within a timely fashion Assist as backup for alternate account Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 25 years experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Power Point) Internet and media research
- Demonstrate ability to calculate figures and amounts
- Acute attention to detail
- Strong organizational and problemsolving skills
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Versatility flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
The days/ hours are: Mon. Fri. 8:30 5 pm onsite
