Responsibilities: As a Staff Accountant you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
- Analyzing financial data and providing recommendations for cost reduction and profit maximization.
- Assisting clients in preparing financial statements budgets and reports.
- Ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and laws.
- Utilizing financial software systems such as QuickBooks and Lacerte to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Preparing federal state and local income tax returns for individuals businesses and organizations.
- Collaborating with the accounting team to streamline accounting functions and operations.
- Continually updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities reading professional publications maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
- Providing guidance on financial matters to other departments within the company.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
- Strong understanding of tax code compliance and procedures for corporations.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in tax accounting preferably in a CPA firm.
- Excellent analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail.
- Proficient in tax software such as Lacerte and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a must.
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
