License Vocational Nurse-Correctional Facilty

1. Patient Care:

• Conduct initial patient screenings and assessments.
• Monitor and record patient vitals and health metrics.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans.

1. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Document all nursing assessments interventions and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with medical and legal standards including HIPAA regulations.
• Prepare and submit reports on patient health status and medical incidents.

1. Health Education:

• Educate patients on preventive health measures and selfcare techniques.
• Provide counseling and support to patients dealing with health challenges.
• Foster a supportive and therapeutic environment for patients.

1. Facility Operations:

• Assist in maintaining a safe clean and organized healthcare environment.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure medical equipment is properly maintained.
• Participate in staff meetings training sessions and continuing education programs as required.

• Current LVN license in the state of Texas.
• CPR certification (BLS).
• Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting preferred; correctional facility experience a plus.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently.

• The position involves working in a secure correctional facility environment.
• Shift work may be required including evenings nights weekends and holidays.
• Ability to handle potentially stressful and unpredictable situations calmly and effectively.
