Job Description:

The plasma cutting machine operator will be tasked with the precise cutting of metal plates and structural shapes adhering to specified dimensions contours and bevels as delineated in blueprints layouts work orders and templates. Responsibilities include lifting positioning and securely clamping metal stock onto the machine bed utilizing both manual techniques and assistance from overhead or jib cranes. Must have proficiency in selecting and installing plasma tips calculating gas pressure and mixture and determining cutting speed based on metal type and thickness is essential relying on data charts or referencing previous cuts. Additionally flexibility in adjusting machine controls either manually or through command inputs to rectify malfunctions or deviations from tolerance specifications is required. Collaborating with supervisors or programming personnel to troubleshoot control media errors and effectively resolve issues is also part of the role. Furthermore the position entails material handling duties potentially involving the operation of industrial forklifts.
