ME Medical Recruitment Currently recruiting for fulltime Nephrologist
Department of Nephrology provides comprehensive renal services to the Central Queensland community.
The services include renal transplant (except acute transplant) acute and chronic kidney diseases Dialysis
(both haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis) Satellite dialysis units Telehealth and inpatient and outpatient renal services. The nephrology team comprises 3 Nephrologists 1 Advanced Trainee 1 Basic Physician
Trainee and 1 RMO.
The Nephrology CME programs include weekly renal topic teaching and monthly histopathology meeting
with Royal Brisbane Women s Hospital.
Within General Medicine there is specific expertise in Diabetes and Respiratory Medicine. The Department
of Medicine provides exposure to a broad range of medical conditions both common and uncommon.
The Opportunity
Assist the Director of Medicine with the organisation management and provision of Specialist Renal Services.
To provide professional leadership to medical staff within the department and to be an active contributor
to the multidisciplinary patient care team.
To manage haemodialysis patients through telehealth and regular site visits to outlying hospitals as scheduled.
Hospital and Health Service is provided as one service multiple sites. In order to meet service needs the Medical Officer may be required to provide clinical services at any facility within the Centrally located Queensland Hospital and Health Service and Central West Hospital and Health Service in line with the clinical services capability of the that facility.
Requirements
Mandatory qualification/s:
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
o Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Nephrology with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). In general this will require Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRACP).
o Possession of accredited skills in Renal Biopsy.
o Possession of procedural skills in Permcath insertion and acute vascular access (Vascath)
placement is preferred.
o Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies
