Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our team in Lafayette. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing the electrical systems fire alarms and other related infrastructure for school buildings. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles strong problemsolving abilities and a commitment to ensuring safety and compliance with all relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Development:
  • Create detailed electrical system designs for school buildings including power distribution lighting and control systems.
  • Develop and implement fire alarm systems ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Project Management:
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and fire alarms in school facilities.
  • Coordinate with architects construction managers and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure the quality and adherence to design specifications.
• Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure all designs and installations meet local state and federal codes and regulations.
  • Implement best practices for safety and efficiency in electrical system design and installation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating potential hazards.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of electrical designs project plans and inspection reports.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress challenges and solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on designing systems for educational or similar facilities.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes standards and regulations.
• Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
