Hours MF 85. Possibility of OT as needed
Travel up to 5% ranging from one day to several days at a time. Possible trainings or meetings. Must have a valid U.S. driver s license.

Job designation is Hybrid working 1 day a week in office with the 4 remaining days working remote. Hybrid schedule is subject to change per executive leadership request.

Teams Interviews are preferred to take place through 5/24/2024 with a start date on 6/10/2024.
This position is open to candidate selection with a home reporting location near the vicinity of Columbus OH and surrounding areas. Additionally Tulsa OK is open as a work location.

Perform electrical transmission system analysis and protection system studies. Accurately model transmission system topology including lines generators and transformers for Medium High and Extra High Voltages using ASPEN OneLiner. Perform area protection studies and develop relay settings for existing and new transmission line and station protection schemes. Contribute to development of systemwide protection standards for transmission and distribution station protection metering and control applications. Perform activities related to NERC P&C standards.

Preferred:
2 years modeling transmission and generation system topology using ASPEN OneLiner for Medium High and Extra High Voltages Including:
o Modeling inverterbased generation for both wind and Solar applications
o Modeling synchronous generation
o Modeling transmission lines transformers and circuit breakers
o Performing transmission system fault studies including circuit breaker duty analysis
2 years of working with NERC 693 Compliance Standards
Demonstrated experience in developing/modifying Microsoft VBA based macros/tools or
Python programing
Demonstrated experience with process improvement including process development implementation and training.

Experience with ASPEN Software is definitely valuable to the role.
Electrical Engineering is preferred

Minimum Requirements: This is an entry level position for new graduates with a Bachelors degree in engineering technology* in a program accredited by ABET**.* A degree in engineering technology is the preferred degree: however engineering degrees will also be considered.

Has typically acquired 2 or more years of related experience in work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering technology principles; Bachelors degree in engineering technology* in a program accredited by ABET**.*A degree in engineering technology is the preferred degree: however engineering degrees will also be considered.

**ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Acceptable alternatives are (1. a Bachelors degree in engineering technology (nonABET) plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or (2. a Bachelors degree in engineering technology (nonABET) plus a Masters degree or PhD in engineering technology from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelors program.

Each position in the Engineering Technologist job family is responsible to the assigned supervisor to perform intermediate level work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering technology knowledge in a safe costeffective and efficient way.

Essential Job Functions & Tasks:
1. Technical Proficiency: Demonstrates an intermediate level ability to perform with minimal guidance a variety of nonroutine technical assignments of a complex nature. Exhibits ability to understand interrelationship between systems and component equipment in area of assignment.
2. Leadership & Guidance: Leads facilitates and coordinates work activities of others within the work group team department or other corporate entity as necessary to perform all routine engineering technology effort. Ensures all work activities are performed in accordance with the policies practices standards and rules of the company.
3. Planning & Organization Ability: Organizes and conducts planning meetings covering scheduling operations and maintenance of equipment with applicable company and contract personnel. Review trends of material and equipment performance and initiate necessary corrective action.
4. Problem Solving & Initiative: Works independently in identifying and resolving complex problems. Seeks to broaden knowledge in areas of the company and industry which will complement acquired technical expertise.
5. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Develops reviews or prepares technical reports clearly concisely and effectively. Leads and facilitates meetings effectively. Functions as a team leader and member. Networks with peers inside and outside the AEP System. Identifies key stakeholders. Uses informal network to get things done.
6. Decision Making & Business Awareness: Uses diverse approaches to make decisions in the absence of a definite framework or where few precedents exist.
