Registrar Obs and Gynae

The Role:
We are seeking a Registrar Obs and Gynae to join a dedicated team in a beautiful regional coastal location.
Approximately 500 babies are born at the Hospital each year and approximately 1600 surgical cases performed in the two operating theatres. 8 bed General Paediatric Ward, and a 4 cot Nursery. 

You will assist the Director, Staff Specialists and Senior Medical Staff to ensure that Obstetrics and Gynaecology services provided are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources.

Total remuneration value of up to $147,109 p.a. is comprised of:
A salary between $116,316 - $128,117 p.a.
12.75% employer superannuation contribution
17.5% leave loading

Hospital:
This is a 70 bed hospital and caters to a regional population of approximately 65,000 incorporating smaller rural/coastal settlements within its catchment area. The hospital provides a range of services including general medicine, emergency medicine and surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, high dependency and coronary care, medical imaging, palliative care, pathology and mental health services. In addition, there are additional services delivered via outreach/community-based facilities.

Location:
A sub-tropical climate and its proximity to islands, waterways and beaches provides year-round boating, fishing, swimming, and surfing. The climate and oceanic setting also yield’s delicious seafood including the famous crab. The city has its own unique appearance with a gorgeous harbour, the environment is so clean and green.

Education facilities including 13 public and private schools (preparatory year followed by year 1 to year 12), special education, Central Queensland Institute of TAFE, and Central Queensland University.

AHPRA registration

The ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of quality, safety and risk in a healthcare environment.
• Demonstrated clinical experience and skills in the provision of clinical services to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Registrar/Principal House Officer level.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written) with staff and patients.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in a multidisciplinary approach to service provision.
• Demonstrated willingness to participate in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education including maintenance of personal knowledge and skills.
• Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the principles of quality and review.
