Senior Financial Analyst

Our client is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst for a contract position in Chicago.

This role is a hybrid role where you would need to be onsite Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. No Exceptions

Looking for Local candidates only that are living in IL and will go into the city

7 years of experience in a financial planning and analysis role understanding drivers of variance of forecast relative to plan experience developing forecast models and challenging forecast results prepared by others experience interpreting historical financial performance in relation to forecast. Ability to manage large data sets and synthetize results for executive management. Experience with all Microsoft tools including Excel and PowerBI. Working knowledge of capital projects drivers and accounting treatment. Experience with change management an modernization

Nice to Have: Experience with Clarity PPM as a forecasting tool and management of a capital portfolio.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Report monthly actual results and forecast to Portfolio Investment Council providing an explanation of variances relative to forecast and plan respectively

2. Actively participate in Portfolio Investment Council providing insights into the financial performance of the portfolio

3. Process portfolio appropriation requests ensuring information provided is accurate and complete and in alignment with approvals set forth by the Portfolio Investment Council

4. Actively participate in the modernization of the function including providing feedback on automation and leading specific efforts as needed

5. Provide guidance to portfolio managers in their preparation of the monthly forecast and submission of appropriation requests
