Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology

• Shift: Day 5x8Hour (07:00 15:00) 40hsr per week
  
• Work Location: Onsite; Saratoga NY
  
  

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients physical and emotional wellbeing before during and after radiation therapy.
  
• Collaborate with the radiation oncology team including oncologists physicists and dosimetrists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  
• Coordinate and schedule patients radiation therapy sessions ensuring adherence to the prescribed treatment regimen.
  
• Educate patients and their families about the radiation therapy process potential side effects and strategies for managing symptoms.
  
• Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
  
• Ensure proper positioning of patients and accurate delivery of radiation doses.
  
• Monitor patients closely during treatment sessions to address any immediate concerns or discomfort.
  
• Manage and alleviate treatmentrelated side effects such as fatigue skin reactions and pain.
  
• Administer medications as prescribed and provide supportive care to improve patients quality of life.
  
• Work closely with oncologists radiation therapists medical physicists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  
• Document any changes in patients conditions and communicate these changes to the healthcare team.
  
• Adhere to safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure risks for patients staff and oneself.
  

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor s Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited academic institution. (preferred)
  

Licenses and Certifications

• RN Registered Nurse
  
• BLS Basic Life Support
  
• NY license in hand
  

• 2 years experience with Radiation oncology
