We are seeking a Manufacturing Coordinator to support an auto parts manufacturer in Troy MI.
This is an onsite contract position open to local candidates.
Duration: 12 months
Shift: 2:30 PM 11 PM (Must be able to work weekends and be able to flex working hours in conjunction with production team)
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares materials for manufacturing use by picking labeling and staging shop orders.
- Coordinates timely supply of parts to production lines.
- Maintain inventory accuracy.
- Review various reports to scan for potential inventory inaccuracies investigate make any necessary adjustments and escalate any shortages to warehouse manager.
- Perform occasional cycle counts of warehouse inventory to maintain accuracy and correct errors.
- Conduct effective problem solving for material related concerns to communicate issues and confirm of countermeasures and resolution of issues.
- Track the flow of material between various warehouse storage locations and production floor.
- Update various files and tracking mechanisms daily to achieve metrics (discrepancies damaged parts lost/misdelivered parts stocks/return to stock etc.
- Drive a safety first culture everywhere the company works.
- Keep work area clean and neat according to 5s standards.
- Maintain order and neatness of parts in the warehouse and parts staged for production.
- Recommend methods for improving associate efficiencies and reduction of waste of materials and products.
- Complete all required training materials; attend all scheduled company meetings.
- Investigate build floor concerns and provide timely updates.
- Assist other warehouse employees as assigned by manager or as needed.
Requirements
Education:
Required:
- 13 years of relevant warehouse or manufacturing experience
- Ability to drive a forklift and obtain a forklift certification
- Strong attention to detail with speed and accuracy
- Tech savvy with the ability to utilize various computer applications and systems to perform research
- SAP and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Previous experience processing small parcel packages through FedEx and UPS software
