Job Duties:

• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students social emotional and behavioral needs.
  
• Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social and emotional challenges develop coping skills and improve interpersonal relationships.
  
• Collaborate with teachers administrators and parents to develop and implement intervention plans to support students academic and socialemotional success.
  
• Advocate for students rights and access to resources including mental health services community support programs and educational accommodation.
  
• Facilitate conflict resolution and crisis intervention as needed to address student concerns and maintain a safe and supportive school environment.
  
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments counseling sessions and interventions.
  
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings including IEP and 504 plan meetings to develop and monitor students support plans.
  
• Provide training and support to school staff on topics related to socialemotional learning traumainformed practices and behavior management strategies.

Requirements

• Masters degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
  
• Illinois Professional Educator License with School Social Worker endorsement.
  
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or community setting.
  
• Knowledge of socialemotional learning principles counseling techniques and behavior management strategies.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  
• Commitment to cultural competence equity and social justice in education.
