This is a full year contract role. This is for a temple recommend holder.
It is 100% remote. Lets focus an hourly rate of $65/hour on C2C
JOB DESCRIPTION (FullStack Developer)
The Oral Genealogies project digitizes and stores living memory genealogies. Our team is doing a complete rebuild of the current system. We will be using Node and React. We are currently gathering data from several countries in Africa. This new system will be used globally. At FamilySearch we practice agile development and continuous delivery.
The Role: As a Senior Software Engineer at FamilySearch.org they will drive the development of robust and scalable software solutions. Collaborate with a talented team of engineers designers and product managers to enhance the FamilySearch.org platform and deliver exceptional user experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design develop and implement software and write beautiful code.
- Develop and maintain scalable performant and secure web applications using Node and React.
- Take ownership of projects throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
- Conduct thorough code reviews provide constructive feedback and mentor junior engineers.
- Uphold software engineering best practices including code quality documentation and maintainability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
Work Experience:
- Between 3 and 5 years of professional experience in software development focusing on webbased applications is needed.
- A minimum of 2 years developing RESTful Node applications.
- A minimum of 2 years developing web applications in React.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Cloud Computing (Amazon AWS)
- Relational databases (Amazon RDS Postgres)
- Software development and test engineering experience on large projects
- Desktop C# Python or Android development
