Senior Technician - Project Based

Responsible to:

• Laboratory Manager
  

Responsible for:

• Overseeing theSite andlaboratory testing in a timely efficient manner.
  

Objectives:

• To produce test results in accordance with documented procedures standards andspecifications.
• To ensure that the laboratory is maintained in compliance with UKAS and Company
  requirements.
• To supervise and assist in the training motivation and deployment of staff.
• To ensure the laboratory is a safe clean and tidy environment in which to work.
• To ensure site technicians are working in a safe manner and equipment / vehicles are maintained.

Duties:

• To work in a safe manner that is in accordance with the Company Health & Safety
  Policy.
• To carry out allocated work as directed by the Laboratory Managerin accordance with documented in house procedures in anexpeditious manner.
• To integrate into the team and maintain a strong harmony and morale throughout
  the laboratory.
• To ensure the control of incoming and stored test specimens.
• To liaise with the Laboratory Manager as appropriate in theday to day running of the laboratory.
• To assist in the maintenance of records relating to the Management System.
• To ensure that subordinate staff are adequately trained and authorised in the dutiesthey perform and carry out training as required.

Main Tasks:

• To test materials and maintain a working knowledge of sampling and test procedures.
• To maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment at all times.
• To carry out any other relevant tasks as directed by senior staff.
• The Senior Technician shall assume the responsibilities of other Senior Technician(s)in their absence.

Knowledge & Experience

3 years experience of working in laboratory environment
Understands demands of 17025 accredited laboratory.
Technical Understanding of construction testing overseen within role
