Position: Assembler
Shift: 1st Hours: 7AM 3PM
Type: FullTime Mode: Direct Placement / ContractToHire
Pay Scale: $16 18/hr Industry: Manufacturing

The Assembler role entails the meticulous assembly of component parts and product assemblies ensuring accuracy in quantities and conducting thorough quality checks throughout the assembly process. This position requires adherence to company procedures while maintaining a high level of professionalism punctuality and productivity during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Interpret technical documents including part drawings and work instructions to perform assembly tasks following clients Manufacturing Practices.
  2. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and quality standards maintaining tidy workspaces and a clear understanding of the workplace layout.
  3. Utilize work samples instructions bill of materials or verbal direction to assemble products accurately employing appropriate tools fixtures chemicals and other aids.
  4. Package products correctly manage material movement and ensure precise parts inventory utilizing an ERP system for job tracking.
  5. Engage in physical labor involving lifting heavy items with regular standing walking and occasional stair climbing.
  6. Use basic computer skills for jobrelated tasks alongside effective verbal and written communication and organizational abilities.

Requirements


Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED with mechanical aptitude or previous experience as an assembler in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong verbal written communication and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Vocational/Technical High School Diploma.

Position Type and Work Hours:

This is a fulltime role with work scheduled from Monday to Friday spanning from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Levels of Proficiency:

Skill levels are tracked and managed in coordination with the Production Manager. Advancement from one level to the next is contingent upon meeting specific prerequisites. Performance is monitored using a departmental skills matrix and the quantity of employees needed at each level is determined by business requirements.

Level I:

  • Proficient in assembling <20% of all active products.
  • Skills focused on subassembly and fundamental product assembly.

Level II:

  • Proficient in assembling >50% of all active products.
  • Capable of electrical wiring soldering and conducting Quality Acceptance Testing.
  • Familiarity with reporting systems.

Level III:

  • Proficient in assembling >80% of all active products.
  • Competent in operating production equipment such as programmable cutters.
  • Skilled in repairing and troubleshooting inhouse production and customer returns.
