Role: ETL BI Test Engineer
Qualification: BTech/MTech/MCA
Job Location: Pune
Experience: 5 7 Years
Work Mode: Hybrid
Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detailoriented Data Tester with expertise in Power BI to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy reliability and performance of our data solutions with a focus on Power BI reports and dashboards. As a Data Tester you will collaborate closely with data engineers analysts and business stakeholders to validate data integrity identify anomalies and contribute to the overall improvement of data quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Validation:
Perform thorough testing of datasets reports and dashboards developed in Power BI to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Validate data transformation processes and ETL pipelines that feed into Power BI.
Quality Assurance:
Develop and execute test plans to validate the functionality and performance of Power BI reports and dashboards.
Identify and report data quality issues ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with the data engineering team.
Power BI Expertise:
Utilize advanced Power BI functionalities to conduct indepth testing including DAX expressions custom visuals and data modelling.
Stay current with Power BI updates and best practices to optimize testing processes.
Collaboration:
Work closely with data engineers business analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and business logic.
Collaborate with the development team to ensure that data testing aligns with project timelines and goals.
Documentation:
Document test cases test results and issues in a clear and organized manner.
Create and maintain documentation related to data validation processes and testing methodologies.
Continuous Improvement:
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance testing processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of data quality practices.
Participate in knowledgesharing sessions to disseminate best practices across the team.
Communication:
Effectively communicate testing results and issues to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Collaborate with business users to gather feedback and incorporate it into the testing process.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Proven experience in data testing with a focus on Power BI.
Strong understanding of data structures databases and data modelling concepts.
Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries for data validation.
Indepth knowledge of Power BI functionalities including DAX data modelling and custom visuals.
Experience with ETL processes and data transformation testing.
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Detailoriented with a commitment to delivering highquality results.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in a relevant field; Master s degree preferred. Proven experience as a Program Manager with a focus on PowerBI or business intelligence. Strong project management skills with a track record of successful PowerBI implementations. In-depth knowledge of PowerBI functionalities, DAX, and data visualization best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into PowerBI solutions. Certification in PowerBI or related technologies is a plus. Preferred Skills: Experience in data modeling and ETL processes. Familiarity with other business intelligence tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is desirable.
