Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Santa Clarita, California (Onsite - Local)

Duration: 6-9 Months

Experience: 5+ years of Designer experience or a combination of Bachelor's degree or International equivalent and experience

Mandatory Skills:

• ProE Creo (Creo9)
• Aerospace domain knowledge
• Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
• Design Data
• Windchill

Essential Functions:

• Ability to understand and apply GD&T at an advanced level
• Proficient in 3D modeling of complex devices and smaller housings
• Capable of performing intermediate level linear stackup studies
• Solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes

Position Purpose: Intermediate level designer working with some latitude and minimal supervision. Performs diverse and intermediate level design assignments, typically in an NPI (New Product Introduction) environment where creative mechanization of design concepts is turned into new product/tooling.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Advanced CAD software skills and computer proficiency, including ERP systems
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and professionalism, participating in continuous improvement activities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
• Basic English communication skills for non-native English staff
• Ability to process multiple types of information and/or perform multiple tasks simultaneously with competing priorities, practicing effective time management
• Solid organization and prioritization skills, not only for self but for those supported by this position
• Ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team
• Ability to define, diagnose, and resolve problems, make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with limited information and under tight deadlines and pressure
• Ability to assist lower-level drafters/designers with tasks
• Ability and willingness to take independent action and complete job tasks with minimal instruction, including recognizing assignments or tasks that need to be completed, seeking out additional assignments or tasks, and helping others
