Sr Plant Engineer

This role will oversee ongoing and new projects and lead our continuous improvements and optimization of the manufacturing/production division. This position will analyze, research, design, develop, and implement systems and equipment to drive change through continuous improvement efforts to higher levels of performance in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and growth. This position plays a key role in continuously improving all aspects of performance and is responsible for driving and executing continuous improvement and OE culture in the plant.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to improve current process to achieve planned goals and targets
  
• Provides OE capabilities and expertise on Lean/Six Sigma Principles to the site and works to increase capabilities throughout the plant
  
• Adhere to workplace safety and corporate/division policies
  
• Provide engineering expertise in the evaluation, selection, installation, and implementation of operating systems of new or existing machinery and equipment
  
• Create project budgets and calculate ROI scenarios with the understanding of priority for each department within the division
  
• Leading technical training as needed
  
• Being a resource for department managers and general personnel with production and processing opportunities
  
• Manage project schedules and costs
  
• Analyze downtime, scrap and cycle time data, and prioritize improvement activities accordingly to positively affect the KPI s
  
• Participate in the safety processes of the plant
  
• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures as well as maintain good housekeeping and GMP practices/Global Food Safety practices
  
• Interface with operating personnel to conduct root cause analysis and solve problems
  
• Communicate project status and describe technical solutions
  
• Utilize Lean & DMAIC methodology, tools, and root cause analysis to eliminate waste
  
• Steer teams to drive long-term success against KPI s
  

Position Requirements:

• A degree in Engineering, or multiple years of experience as a Project Manager with demonstrated experience in the food industry
  
• Must possess big-picture thinking and vision
  
• Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously
  
• Must be proficient in leadership, communication, organization, attention to detail, troubleshooting, planning, budgeting, time management, negotiating, risk management, and team building
  
• Knowledge of equipment design and food plant layout
  
• General working knowledge of Food Industry and Safety regulations
  
• Strong leadership skills: ability to work in a team environment
  
• Independent, accountable, and capable of multi-tasking

• Ability to gather critical information, move projects from concept to finish
