Utilities and energy company is looking to hire experienced Senior Accountant. This is a high growth position reporting to the VP of Finance and is based in Huntington Beach.
The ideal candidate will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. Salary DOE 78-90K

The ideal candidate will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. Salary DOE 78-90K
Position Summary:
- Performs general cost accounting
- Preparesbalance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Maintains the general ledger.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
- Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs.
- Prepare budget reports.
- As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
- Predicts, plans, and records variable costs such as purchases of raw material, labor, and operation costs.
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Highly proficient with accounting software; implementation and indepthexperience with NetSuite highly preferred.
- Strong inventory cost accounting experience.
- BA Finance or Accounting
- Ability to work in office, fulltime
