What is Luya all about?

Luya Foods was founded in twenty twenty one with a clear mission: to go beyond today s clamor of meat imitations to create innovative category-defining plant-based alternatives that are tasty, juicy and naturally processed. We want to create the most delicious plant-based products

After two years of research and product development, we have successfully launched Luya in the Swiss gastro market and retail market. Luya is created using traditional fermentation and innovative processing to transform okara, a by-product from soy milk and tofu production, into delicious slices, chunks and patties. Now we are preparing the launch of delicious and exciting products in the retail and gastro markets and you will take the lead to make this happen!

Tasks

About the role. You will

• be responsible for the product development process from ideation, initial concept over laboratory scale to market launch and closely collaborate with our Brand & Marketing, Sales and Production teams.
• work with talented individuals whose expertise is in product development, culinary art, quality management, health and nutrition
• design, prototype and test delicious plant-based products that delight our customers and reflect Luya s core values
• generate and synthesize scientifically driven ideas through collaborations with universities and researchers from different disciplines and translate those ideas into new and improved products
• be the driving force behind the continuous improvement of our products with the ambition to create products that delight our customers time and again
• develop specifications for production trials including the packaging process and quality assurance
• improve our internal processes to make our product development more innovative, faster and even more consumer-focused

Requirements

To be successful and enjoy this we think that you

• have a degree in food technology, culinary art, food science, product design or related discipline from a university or university of applied sciences
• gained several years of work experience in product development or product innovation in food production or related industry
• have a deep passion for food, the drive to try new things and a keen interest in the plant-based food market
• have successfully led and developed people and made ambitious projects happen in time
• are at ease working on hands-on duties in the lab / test kitchen and on strategic/ management tasks in the office
• have a creative, open-minded personality and are keen to find out of the box solutions
• bring a can-do attitude, are diligent and approach challenges in a structured way
• are excited to make changes in the food system happen today by developing delicious and sustainable products
• communicate clearly, empathically and concisely written and verbal
• are fluent in English and ideally German
