Instrument design engineer

SilverBack has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Instrument Design Engineer to join our client's inclusive and collaborative team. This contract instrument design engineering role is based in Skelleftea, Sweden, and comes with an excellent rate and the chance to be part of a positive and diverse workplace culture.

As an Instrument Design Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving the design deliverables on an industrial build and have a site installation support role. You will be working as part of the design team for the vendor/client on a first-of-a-kind project in Europe.

In your first few weeks in this instrument design engineering job, you can expect to:

• Prepare instrument specifications and data sheets
• Draft the instrument cable schedule and termination detail drawings
• Prepare installation details and the hook-up diagram
• Organise the cause and effect chart, control narrative, and system I/O database

The ideal candidate for this Instrument Design Engineer role will have vast experience in design and engineering and a proven track record in designing complex installation packages. The successful applicant also must have BMS system experience and hands-on expertise in installation. Additional requirements include:

• Degree qualified in instrumentation design or equivalent
• Ten years of experience working in instrumentation with at least five years of experience in design
• Highly skilled in electrical and instrumentation with some knowledge of mechanical disciplines
• Knowledge of the ABB control system would be an advantage
• The right to work in the EU or Sweden
