الوصف الوظيفي
- Preparing patients for procedures by recording their medical history, administering sedatives as needed, and ensuring that patients are comfortable during procedures
- Operating x-ray equipment to take dental films of teeth and jaws
- Taking dental impressions of patient’s teeth to make molds for crowns or other restorative work
- Taking dental radiographs of teeth and jaws to help diagnose dental problems such as cavities, infections, or fractures
- Cleaning and sterilizing dental equipment and instruments
- Determining when patients need to return for follow-up appointments based on the results of dental x-rays
- Maintaining patient records of dental x-ray examinations in paper or electronic form
- Explaining procedures to patients and assisting them with anxiety reduction techniques before and during dental x-ray examinations
- Explaining the results of dental x-ray examinations to dentists and assisting them in developing treatment plans based on the findings
