Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Perl Developer to join our dynamic team at a leading Healthcare SaaS company. Our entire ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes and core business logic are rooted in Perl making this role crucial for the maintenance and development of our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Perl programming with a keen understanding of how to manage and manipulate large data sets in a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Maintain Perl Applications:
- Design develop and maintain Perl applications integral to our ETL processes and business logic.
- Ensure the performance quality and responsiveness of applications.
- Data Management:
- Handle large datasets implementing processes for data extraction transformation and loading.
- Work closely with the data team to ensure data integrity and efficiency of data processing.
- System Optimization:
- Continuously identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems.
- Optimize the performance of backend systems for speed and efficiency.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to define design and ship new features.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to nontechnical staff.
- Compliance and Best Practices:
- Ensure the application adheres to healthcare industry standards and regulatory compliance particularly in data handling and security.
- Maintain code quality organization and automation.
- Technical Support and Documentation:
- Provide technical support including root cause analysis and remediation of production issues.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Strong knowledge and working experience in cloud infrastructure like AWS Azure or GCP
- Proven software development experience in Perl.
- Strong understanding of Perl programming and its nuances.
- Strong Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies (such as JavaScript HTML5 and CSS3) is a plus.
- Experience in healthcare IT and understanding of healthcare data standards (such as HL7 FHIR) preferred.
- Solid understanding of objectoriented programming.
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
