Mainframe Technical Resource

Cloudstreet Consulting is seeking to fill a 12month contract role for a Mainframe Analyst/Programmer with our government client. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience working with financial and banking applications.

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide support and development for the Mainframebased Government Accounting System (GAS) which operates on Infor Masterpiece Datacom and CICS. This role involves maintaining and developing both vendorsupplied online and batch programs.

In addition to the standard applications GAS is supported by a comprehensive library of custom programs batch jobs and JCLs (Job Control Language) that manage data extraction processing and import/export functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining updating and enhancing these bespoke solutions as needed.

Requirements

The applicant must possess knowledge and extensive working experience with COBOL JCL SQL CICS and Datacom.

Knowledge and experience with Atlassian JIRA in managing ticket requests workload and documentation is highly desirable whilst knowledge of Atlassian Confluence is a bonus.

Knowledge or awareness of banking is desirable as the Northern Territory Government (NTG) is on the path to contemporising integration with its banker.

The applicant will be required to liaise with the NTG s Data Centre Services and software vendors for businessasusual and technical issues and should fit comfortably in a team environment working with other developers and business analysts/subject matter experts whist also being able to work autonomously and prioritise tasks.

The applicant should possess highly developed analytical skills be adaptable to change and committed.

A preference will be for the applicant to work full time on site in Darwin.
