Job Description

TPF Recruitment is excited to collaborate with a prestigious independent firm of chartered accountants nestled in the heart of Hastings Sussex. Renowned for their commitment to excellence and personalized client service our client is seeking a talented SemiSenior/Senior Accountant to join their closeknit team. With a legacy of success this traditional firm has a dynamic approach to accounting utilizing software such as Iris Xero Sage and QuickBooks to enhance their services.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Diversity: Manage a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from sole traders to limited companies providing a comprehensive suite of accounting services.
  • Traditional Accounting: Utilize a mix of traditional and modern accounting methods leveraging software tools like Iris Xero Sage and QuickBooks.
  • Mixed Workload: Handle a varied workload spanning accounts tax and bookkeeping to ensure comprehensive support for client needs.
  • Succession Planning: Support a partner transitioning into a more compliancefocused role by gradually taking over client management and portfolio responsibilities.
  • Collaborative Team: Work alongside a team of approximately 5 members in the Hastings office fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.


Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • AAT qualified ACCA/ACA partqualified or fully qualified.
  • Proven experience in a general practice role demonstrating proficiency in accounts tax and bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with accounting software including Iris Xero Sage and QuickBooks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Capacity to work independently and contribute effectively to a team.

Qualifications and Experience: Extensive experience in a tax management role, ideally within a top 50 accountancy firm. Strong expertise in either personal tax or a mixed tax background. Proven track record of managing a diverse client portfolio. Excellent knowledge of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements. Ability to provide tax planning advice and identify tax-saving opportunities for clients. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships. Previous experience in a supervisory or mentoring role, with a passion for developing junior team members.
