Job Description
We have partnered with an international renewable energy developer to hire a Modelling Analyst to join their Dublin team. The successful candidate will play a lead role in key trading decisions as well as strategic asset management and investment.
The Role:
- Forecast market prices and plant operations from short term forward contracts market for electricity markets.
- Gather and analyse data relating to modelling and the energy market and implementing these in modelling tools.
- Input the development of trading asset management and investment strategies.
- Create and maintain accurate modelling reports enhance and analyse dashboards and communicate to various stakeholders on a timely basis.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in the energy sector ideally in energy system/market modelling/optimisation.
- Degree qualification in Engineering Economics Statistics Data Analytics or Math related discipline.
- Experience using data visualisation/reporting tools such as Power BI/ Tablea or other business intelligence platforms
- A knowledge of energy market modelling tools such as Plexos and KYOS or other coding systems such as SQL.

5+ years experience in power and gas trading across ISEM,UK or other jurisdictions. Highly analytical, numerical and strong communication skills are essential. Excellent timely decision skills and strong judgement are essential. Strong ability to adapt quickly to dynamic trading and operating systems conditions. Candidates must be living and working in the Republic of Ireland.
